June Club Match will be Silhouettes. That will be June 8th. Silhouettes are a fun way to spend a Sunday. Shoot your flinter, repro, musket, cartridge, or match-lock if you prefer. Any black powder weapon is OK on silhouettes. Silhouettes June 8th at 9am at BML, come on up for a fun match with a chance to add extra cash in your pocket.
The May Club Match was the Will Johnson or Mike Baggette or John Clevenger- it ended up as the "Tom Trevor" MUSKET MATCH. The targets were paper, ten rounds at 100 yds., 10 rounds at 50 yds., and five rounds at 25 yards, round ball or mini. Aggregate score with a perfect score of 250 points. Prizes were taken down to six places (just to keep it even). The results were:
1st-Lee Bowman with 224-4X 2nd- Tom Trevor with 224-3X
3rd-John Clevenger with 219-1X 4th- Sam Baseman with 212-3X
5th-Skip Stokes with 205-3X 6th- Eli Colvin with 193-1X
'Twas a good day for shooting, 50 degrees starting and we finished at 72 degrees with no wind. Look at those scores! Good shooting Lee and Tom T, and with a musket no less, see if you can do it again next year. 'twas money payback match instead of prizes, 'cause Tom just got the match tossed in his lap. Lee or Sam, Take this match for next year!!!!!!!!
Watch for snakes as it gets warmer, several have been found already this year.
Update on the snakes: Wednesday the 14th we had four Bull snakes to visit us today, three were 4' + and the small one was about 3' 6". Bull snakes are good for us so don't kill them, they eat our mice.
Tom T hooked the drag to his Jeep and did a quick run over the weeds. LOOKING BETTER, but right now they are just knocked down. Until the wind can blow the stuff off, we are beginning to clean off the berms and do some raking, we hope to look so good and the Fire Department will leave us alone for another year. If you get there Sunday before the shooting starts, grab a hoe or a rake and give the 'Old Retired Farts" a break and help keep our range looking good as it always does.
