BML Members,
The rains came and the range handled it well. We had no wash outs or mud movement. There is another 2 months of the rainy season left but we will be alright.

March 8th club match is one of the year’s best, Tom Trevor’s Cartridge Trail-Walk. Shoot any black powder cartridge weapon with outside hammers and glassless sights. Twenty-five rounds at twenty-five gongs from 50 yards out to 200 yards. We can shoot from the longer stations; the grass is green and will not burn. We will be starting when the light is good, March 8th at BML.

Remember, Tom Trevor’s Cartridge Trail-Walk March 8th.
March is also a fifth Sunday month. March 29th we will again shoot the Trail-Walk but this time with any weapon, cartridge or muzzle loader. Remember the fifth Sunday Trail-Walk gives the muzzle loaders two extra rounds at the targets, twenty-five rounds for cartridge shooters and twenty-seven rounds for the muzzle loader shooter. Only this March 29 we are throwing a wrench into the mix. Shoot until you hit before you move. That’s right; you have to hit each gong before you move to the next, the one that moves further, WINS. Put both March dated on your calendar, it is a fun month to shoot at the Burbank Club.

February club match was silhouettes. For the first time we had a tie for first place that we could not break. We started by looking at who hit the most Turkeys, then Rams, Pigs, and then Chickens. They both hit the same on every bay. We tried a shoot off, didn’t work, flipped a coin and it landed on edge in the wet dirt, change in the pockets didn’t work either. We tried rock-paper-scissors, and even put them on a hill holding metal ramrods hoping for a lightning strike. When God didn’t pick the winner it was up to me to fix it, so here goes:

FIRST- Tom Andress with 13 hits                        FIRST- Lee Bowman with 13 hits
FIRST- Lee Bowman with 13 hits                          FIRST- Tom Andress with 13 hits
THIRD- Sam Baseman with 12 hits                      FORTH- Tom Trevor with 11 hits
FIFTH- Skip Stokes with 10 hits                            SIXTH- John Clevenger with 6 hits

There were three row pins earned this month. Tom Andress and Lee Bowman both hit 5 rams, Lee Bowman and Tom Andress both hit 5 rams, and Sam Baseman got 5 chickens. Lee and Sam tried for the animal record or at least ten in a row, but neither made it, Tom didn’t try. Not a bad day for shooting, 9:00 am it was a damp 40 degrees and after lunch at 12:30 pm it was a damp 46 degrees and the sun was shining. Next silhouette match is in April.
